JEE Main 2020: Additional 2 hour Time for Disabled Candidates in January next year Exam


 

Now a relief for many of the students who are going to attempt the Joint entrance examination (JEE Main 2020).

According to the new directive, it has now been decided that the students who will attend the exam in January next year will get 2 hours of additional time for students who are disabled.

As per the management of the National Examination Agency (NTA), an institution conducting the exam, candidates with disability of 40 per cent or more can demand supplementary time.

So far, only those candidates who had access to the benefit of additional time were the assistants (Scribe). But now the disabled students who write the test themselves will also be able to avail the extra time. Not only that, but acid affected candidates can also avail this facility.

The joint entrance exam for engineering consists of two papers in Main (JEE Main). Both the papers are three hours each. The divyangs will get one-hour extra time in each paper.

According to NTA, the central government had changed the facilities provided to PWDs under the right of Divyangjans Act 2016. Under this, supplementary time will be given to PWDs from JEE Main 2020.

JEE, also known as Joint Entrance examination, is an engineering exam which is conducted nationwide to get admissions in colleges across India. It has two examinations: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The exam consists of objective questions.

It is one of the most challenging question paper. In 2012, Central Board of Secondary Education which a government-run organisation announced the JEE which replaced both AIEEE and IIT-JEE exams.

As per reports from Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) of Government of India, the government is considering to conduct only one common engineering entrance test based on lines NEET for all engineering colleges, including private institutions, across India.
